Jenna and Jen helped us with the planning from beginning to end. They thought of and took care of details that never would have crossed our minds. They go above and beyond and do the little things that make all the difference in making your day enjoyable. Kendall and Trevor's Engagement Session

Jen and I finally got to meet some of our favorite clients in person--KENDALL AND TREVOR!!! We had such a blast with the two of them going to vendors meetings and just getting to know each other. Since I have two wedding coming up in 2010 that I will be a bridesmaid in I have been looking at a ton of bridesmaids dresses lately. Here are some of my most favorite cuts that hopefully will inspire you when you are dressing your wedding party:

Tips for Choosing Great Bridesmaid Dresses:

• Make sure that the dress comes in a variety of sizes to fit all your Bridesmaids
• Invite your Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids to give their feedback on a few different dresses selections
• Make sure for your wedding party tries on their dresses prior to purchase to make sure there is ease of movement and everyone feels comfortable with the size and style
• Coordinate the color of the dresses with your wedding theme

Questions to Ask: Videographer

Choosing a videographer to capture all your moments on film is an important part of your wedding planning. Make sure to ask lots of questions to make sure you understand exactly what you are getting. Here is a list of some critical questions you should ask:

• What does the video package include (Single camera or Multi-camera , Montage of stills or slow motion scenes, Titles, Narration, Background music, Close-up shots, Interviews with family, wedding party, guests)?


• What style of video you prefer? Video to have a classic, story-telling approach, similar to television programs such as A&E's "Biography" or a fast-paced, highly-stylized "MTV" look?


• How many DVD's come with the package? What is the cost for extra DVD's?


• How is the DVD packaged professionally? Does it have a case, album, printed labels?


• How many hours does the price include?


• Does the videographer maintain the original videotape? If so, how long?


• What kind of camera equipment will be used? Is it consumer or commercial quality equipment?


• What is the format? Is it 3 CCD digital, High Definition? 1/3-Inch 3-CCD Widescreen?


• Is the person who is showing you the videos the same person who will be shooting your wedding or at least the person involved in how the videography will be taped at the wedding and how it will be edited?

Questions to Ask: Cake Baker

When it comes to choosing your wedding cake baker most people think the only questions they need to ask is "how much does it cost," "what flavors does it come in," and "can you create this cake (then you show them a picture of a very detailed cake)?" The reality is that there are numerous questions every bride and groom should ask before signing a contract with a cake baker. Here they are:

• Do you have a portfolio of past cakes you created that you can show me?


• Are you going to be designing my cake? If not, can I meet the person who will be designing the cake and see a portfolio of their work?


• Can we come in for a cake tasting? Can we sample at least 3 different types of cake flavors, fillings, and icings?


• If we want to you fresh flowers on our wedding cake will you correspond with my florist to make sure you have everything you need to place them on the cake on my wedding day?


• How long before our wedding will our cake be prepared? (The closer it is baked towards your wedding day, the better it will taste.)


• Do you have any delivery and/or setup fees?


• Can you provide me a written proposal outlining the design and costs?

Questions to Ask: Photographer

Choosing your wedding photographer is in my mind one of the most important decisions you will make regarding your wedding day. Making sure your photographer is not only reliable but captures the style of your wedding the way you have always envisioned is critical. Here are some essential questions to ask any photographer you are interviewing:

• What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?


• What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?


• Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?
• Do you shoot in color or black and white? Or both? Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both color and b/w versions of the same picture?


• How long they have been in business?


• How soon after my wedding will my photos be ready?


• How much time will you be spending at my wedding?

Questions to Ask: DJ

Here is a list of the important questions you need to ask the DJs you are interviewing for your wedding:

• How many wedding have they performed before?


• What will he or she will be wearing?


• Ask about the DJ’s start and end times. Does the price include music during the cocktail hour and/or during dinner?


• Make sure you ask who will be performing at your wedding. If you are working with a DJ service, ask to meet with the DJ ahead of time.


• Ask about equipment. A DJ should have professional sound equipment - not "home consumer" gear. Be sure that the DJ’s speakers and sound system will accommodate your reception location.


• Ask if they need a tablecloth or linens for their table(s).


• Ask about the DJ’s presentation. Ask them to explain how they will handle the details of the introductions, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet & garter and special requested dances. You want to be comfortable with the DJ’s style and personality.


• Do they let you choose what songs you would like to be heard at the reception? And can you give them a list of "DO NOT PLAY" songs?

Questions to Ask: Florist

When you are planning the decor for your wedding ceremony and reception, choosing the right florist is huge. Here is a list of questions you should ask your florist prior to booking them:

• Can they show you some photos of their past work?


• Is the person you are meeting with the person who will be putting together your wedding florals?


• Do they have rental supplies?


• Can you change your order if you have another idea? What's the cut off date for new ideas?


• Will the florist transport ceremony decorations to the reception location? Is there a fee?


• Can they make a sample of your bouquet and centrepiece?
• Will they write you up an itemized quote? Are the flowers you've chosen in season? What flowers are in season for your date?


• Are there any additional or hidden costs, ex. delivery charge, setup fee, etc.?


• Is the florist familiar with your reception and ceremony locations?
